Defending Baltics International Conference: War Lessons from Ukraine

The largest international conference on security and defense in Lithuania, “Defending Baltics: War Lessons from Ukraine,” will be held on October 8-9 at the Palace of the Grand Dukes in Vilnius.

Amid the third year of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the security of the Baltic region faces unprecedented challenges. The war has taught strategic lessons crucial for strengthening the defensive capabilities and improving collaboration within the region. The Defending Baltics 2024 conference will draw on the latest developments from the battlefield in Ukraine, creating a platform for fostering collaboration and sharing knowledge between the Baltic states, NATO allies, and Ukraine itself.

This free-to-attend event will gather military leaders, defense experts, and policymakers to discuss the ever-evolving role of NATO, transformation of Europe’s defense industries amid a shifting security landscape, as well as threats posed by hybrid warfare and the increasing importance of cybersecurity. Panels will cover key topics such as military spending, strategic communication, and the integration of civilian support into national defense strategies.
The event is organized by the Civic Resilience Initiative, Locked N’ Loaded, the Eastern European Studies Centre, and the Lithuanian Ministry of National Defense.
Event partners include Lithuanian National Television and the Vilnius City Municipality.
